A media kit (also called a press kit) is a collection of materials that gives journalists everything they need to write about your company accurately and quickly. A well-prepared media kit saves journalists time and increases the quality of coverage.
What to include in a media kit
- Company overview: one-pager that summarizes what you do, who uses it, and key metrics
- Executive bios: founder and leadership team with headshots
- Logos and brand assets: high-resolution files in multiple formats (PNG, SVG)
- Product screenshots: clean, high-resolution images of the product
- Fact sheet: key numbers like founding date, headcount, customer count, funding raised
- Recent press releases: the last 5 to 10 announcements
- Press contact: name, email and phone of the person handling media inquiries
Host your media kit on a dedicated page on your website, often at /press, /newsroom or /media. Link to it in every press release and in your email signature if you handle press.
